The studio

A planning desk, not a coach company.

Harborline started as two friends writing walking notes for people who hated being herded. We still keep the groups small, the emails short, and the restaurants booked under a real name.

We work with guides who live on the route: a historian in Tbilisi, a fisher-turned-walker on Noto, a Lisboner who knows which miradouro is quiet after 16:00. They set the pace. We handle the unglamorous parts — transfers, backup inns, the person who needs a dairy-free breakfast.

The office is in Margate, mostly because the train from London still feels like leaving. Correspondence is answered on weekdays. If we are on the trail, you will hear from us the next working morning.

How a trip is built

  1. We ask how you like to walk, eat, and sleep — not a 40-field form.
  2. You get a sketched week with distances, elevations, and honest weather notes.
  3. We hold rooms. You book flights when the sketch feels right.
  4. A week out, a packet: maps, a table plan, and what to leave at home.
